Many people have expressed interest in attending a Mormon worship service, but typically have a few common questions.
Are visitors allowed?
Absolutely. On the outside of each of our meetinghouses, you will often see a plaque with the name of the Church — The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints — followed by a “Visitors Welcome” message.

There has occasionally been confusion between meetinghouses (where we hold our normal Sunday worship services) and temples (where members of the Church attend other worship services). Though only members of the Church are able to attend the temple, anybody and everybody is welcomed and encouraged to attend our worship services each Sunday.
How can I find a meetinghouse near where I live?
The LDS Church has developed a website at http://maps.lds.org where you can type in a city or address, and it will provide you with the nearest meetinghouses. Try typing in your city and see what possibilities come up–an LDS meetinghouse might be closer than you thought!
What should I expect when I attend?
This is a great question. Because people sometimes don’t know what to expect, they hesitate to attend. Recently, a member of the LDS Church put together a simple, informative video to describe what to expect when attending an LDS church service. Watch this short 3-minute video to get a better idea.
Still have questions? Feel free to contact me–I’d be more than happy to answer any of your questions about what to expect and to help you find a worship service near you.
